The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) released a threat assessment that looks into the overall risk of the Omicron XBB.1.5 sub-lineage in the EU/EEA. The overall level of risk was assessed as low for the general population and moderate to high for vulnerable individuals, including the elderly, non-vaccinated and immunocompromised. This assessment may change as more evidence becomes available.
