Pfizer and BioNTech will submit request for EUA for their COVID-19 vaccine today

Updated 21 November: The FDA has scheduled a meeting on 10 December to discuss the request on EUA of the COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer and BionTech. All background materials will be made available to the public at least two business days prior to the meeting. 

Posted 20 November: Pfizer and BioNTech have announced that they will submit a request for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today for their COVID-19 vaccine candidate BNT162b2, which showed a vaccine efficacy rate of 95%. They also planned to submit applications to regulatory agencies in other countries including Australia, Canada, Japan and the United Kingdom.
