COVID-19 in Hong Kong, September

Hong Kong (China SAR) // 22 September, 2020

Status: Decreasing Activity

22 September: At least 71 new cases were reported in the past week, eight of which were reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases has reached 5,047.

15 September: At least 90 cases were reported in the last week, resulting in a total of 4,976 cases. 

8 September: Over six new cases were reported. Social distancing measures will be further relaxed. The maximum number of people allowed to sit at one table will be increased from two to four. More premises including amusement game centres and public entertainment places will be allowed to reopen. Gatherings in public places must be limited to four people. Wearing of face masks remains mandatory in public places and on public transport. These measures will last until 17 September.

7 September: At least 11 new cases have been reported, resulting in a total of 4,890 cases.

2 September: At least 12 new cases have been reported, bringing the total to 4,823 cases. Hong Kong remains in Decreasing Activity. Officials have initiated the Universal Community Testing Programme (UCTP) to help control the spread of COVID-19.
