COVID-19 in China, June

The original epicentre of the pandemic, continues to show a decreasing number of cases and deaths. The outbreak in China has passed its peak, with the majority of new cases being imported into China. On 13 June a cluster of locally acquired cases was reported in Beijing associated with the Xinfadi Market.

At least 83,531 cases have been confirmed by the National Health Commission (in Chinese), including 4,634 deaths. More than 78,469 cases are "recovered and discharged."

30 June: 19 new cases were reported for 29 June, 11 of which were imported cases (4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Sichuan province and 1 in Gansu province) and 8 local cases ( 7 in Beijing and 1 in Shanghai).

21 June: Over the weekend 53 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported. Five cases were imported and 48 cases were from local transmission. Of the 48 local cases, 22 cases were reported from the growing cluster in Beijing and four cases were reported from Hebei Province. No deaths were recorded.

16 June: 40 new cases were reported for 15 June, 8 imported (3 in Shanghai , 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Liaoning province) and 32 local cases, 27 in Beijing municipality, 4 in Hebei province and 1 in Sichuan province and no deaths. 1 June: Imported cases continue, with China reporting 16 cases on 31 May which is the highest number of new daily cases in a couple of weeks. A total of 83,017 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths have been reported.
