WHO reports impact of climate crisis on health outcomes

The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) stated in a speech that “the climate crisis is now one of the major factors determining human health outcomes”. The highest global average temperature on record was documented on 3 July 2023, driven by El Niño and global warming. Extreme weather events such as droughts, floods, hurricanes, and heatwaves are expected to continue over the next few months.
