WHO PAHO reiterates guidelines on surveillance of avian flu, amongst rising cases

The Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) has reiterated guidance for the surveillance and management of avian flu (HPAI) due to increasing numbers of cases in birds in the Americas.

To date, two human cases have been reported, the first in the USA in April 2022 and the second in Ecuador in January 2023.
