27 July: Tajikistan has received a shipment of 1.5 million doses of the Moderna vaccine donated from the United States.
The country received their first shipment of 192,000 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine through the COVAX facility in March. The vaccination campaign began on 23 March, with the first priority groups including healthcare workers, education and science workers, strategic sectors of the economy, people 60 years and older and people with chronic conditions.
In early July, media sources reported that the country's COVID Task Force ordered mandatory vaccination for all adults.
Over 450,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to date, with over 21,000 people (0.2% of the population) fully vaccinated.
