Kazakhstan // 29 June, 2021

29 June: As of 29 June 2021 the government has announced they will begin rolling out a vaccine incentive program that involves vaccine recipients obtaining cash certificates in exchange for their inoculation. The health minister stated, starting on 30 June more information will be given about the program. The government of Kazakhstan is hoping to continue to capitalize on increasing vaccine administration rates given the recent increase in demand for the COVID-19 vaccine. The government also announced on 29 June 2021 that a fivefold increase in the demand for the COVID-19 vaccine was reported in comparison to demand in mid-May. The health minister hopes that the cash incentive program will lead to a further demand for the COVID-19 vaccine, which will mitigate the effects of the pandemic on the country.
