8 October: The Iranian Red Crescent Society reports importing 12 million COVID-19 vaccines from China at the end of September, without specifying which one. These single dose vaccines are being used to vaccinate 3 to 17-year-olds. The Sinopharm vaccine has previously been imported by the society from China.

At least six vaccines have been approved in Iran, with several other locally developed vaccines continuing in clinical trials. Around 62 million vaccine doses have been delivered, with over 18.2 million people (over 21.5% of the total population) fully vaccinated.

15 July: A further 1,142,800 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have arrived, again arranged through the Iranian Red Crescent Society.

10 July: A shipment of 1,000,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have arrived. The shipment was arranged by the Iranian Red Crescent Society. The group had previously imported 4,400,000 doses of vaccine.

17 May: A second batch of vaccines through COVAX facility arrived on 16 May. At least 1,452,000 doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca manufactured by Catalent Anagni of Italy were delivered.

3 May: The Iranian Red Cross Society reports that 1 million doses of a Chinese COVID-19 vaccine (not specified) arrived in Tehran on 2 May. A previous shipment from China in early April included 400,000 Sinopharm vaccine doses.

Media reports that a locally developed vaccine, COVIran Barekat, began Phase 3 clinical trials on 2 May. Three other locally made vaccines remain in development; Razi COV-Pars, Fakhravac and Osvid-19 vaccines.

Over 1 million vaccine doses have been administered to date, with 210,000 people fully vaccinated.

16 April: State media reports that Iran has secured a deal with Russia for 60 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine by the end of the year. An additional 400,000 doses of Sinopharm have been donated by China. As of 11 April, over 407,000 vaccine doses had been administered.

6 April: Iran has received the first batch of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines, manufactured by SK-Bio Institute of South Korea, consisting of 700,800 doses according to media reports. The delivery is the first COVAX shipment to the country.

12 March: Media is reporting that 150,000 doses of Covaxin COVID-19 vaccine has been delivered to Iran. Another 375,000 doses will arrive in the next week. The country also received 250,000 doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine on 28 February.

4 February: The first batch of Sputnik V vaccine has arrived from Moscow, and the second and third deliveries are expected to arrive on 18 and 28 February.

26 January: Media source has reported that Gamaleya's Sputnik V vaccine has been approved in Iran and plans to import and produce it.
