17 May: A shipment of 28,800 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine was received through COVAX in early April. More than 33,000 vaccine doses have been administered to date, with almost 14,000 people (almost 20% of the population) fully vaccinated.
15 February: Dominica received 70,000 doses of the Covishield vaccine donated from India on 9 February. The national vaccination campaign kicked off on 12 February, with the President and his wife receiving the first doses. The first priority group includes frontline workers, such as health care workers, customs and immigration officers, port authority personnel, police officers and taxi drivers.
Media reports that several thousands of doses of the vaccine were shared with other Caribbean countries, including Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda and Grenada.
