Japan has launched the New Corona Vaccination Certificate for overseas travel and it can be used in seven countries so far; Italy, Austria, Turkey, Bulgaria, Poland, Korea, and Estonia. In Korea, the vaccination certificate is required in order to obtain a quarantine exemption certificate. In Estonia, the Japanese New Corona Vaccination Certificate is certified, but Estonia is currently not requiring post-entry quarantine of PCR testing. Further details for other countries have yet to be confirmed. Residents may still be able to travel without this vaccination certificate.
Applications for the New Corona Vaccination Certificate started being accepted on 26 July at the local municipalities from which individuals received their inoculation ticket. Eligible people are those who have been vaccinated in Japan and are intending to travel. To apply, individuals will need to supply an application form, valid passport, preliminary vaccination examination part of the inoculation ticket, and an inoculation certificate or record.
