Two suspected cases of viral hemorrhagic fever in Abuja test negative for Ebola and Marburg

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has issued a public health advisory following two suspected cases of viral hemorrhagic fever in Abuja. Both patients tested negative for Ebola and Marburg viruses, and further testing is underway for other possible causes such as Lassa fever and dengue.

One of the cases involved a traveler returning from Kigali who promptly sought medical attention upon feeling unwell. The agency has activated nationwide preparedness measures, including enhanced surveillance, readiness of isolation facilities, and prepositioning of critical supplies.
