Russia claims 100% efficacy for its second COVID-19 vaccine, to rollout from March

Media has reported that its second vaccine EpiVacCorona, developed by Siberia’s Vector Institute, is 100% effective based on clinical trials results. This vaccine was approved in Russia on 14 October, prior to conducting Phase 3 clinical trials. Mass trials of EpiVacCorona began in November 2020.

State media reports that Phase 3 study results will be made available to the public in February.

Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister has stated (in Russian) that mass production of EpiVacCorona will be scaled up from February, and then rolled out to the public in March.
