A research letter published 23 September in JAMA provided further data regarding pregnancy and COVID-19 infection. The study tested the COVID-19 status of nearly 3,000 mothers presenting in labor and measured several outcomes. Many of these outcomes such as bleeding after delivery, preterm birth, and the infant’s birthweight did not differ significantly between those who were positive and those who weren’t. The authors note they did see an association between positive COVID-19 infection and preeclampsia though it was not considered statistically significant.
