Smoke from wildfires in Gironde department have led to poor air quality across central and southern Nouvelle-Aquitane and much of Occitane. Extreme west areas of Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur and parts of Auvergne-Rhone Alpes may also be affected in the coming days. Authorities have recorded air quality readings exceeding the alert threshold for PM10 and are recommending the general public to take precautions to minimise exposure.
