In a survey by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the participants were asked about the symptoms they experienced seven days before they were tested. The results found that those who tested positive with B.1.1.7 variant of SARS-CoV-2 that emerged in the UK were less likely to report loss of taste and smell, but they were more likely to report other symptoms such as cough, fever and shortness of breath.
