Para state has identified at least 19 mpox infections this year, with the majority in Belem city. Ananindeua and Marituba have also reported infections. Media sources report at least two fatalities in Belem city, however, this has yet to be confirmed by authorities. Para State Department of Public Health (Sespa) states that there is no outbreak of mpox in Belem or throughout Para.
