22 December: The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported additional confirmed infections in Mali, bringing the total to 10. Investigations suggest that at least five of these confirmed cases were separate importations from neighbouring Guinea.
17 December: In an update, Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) reported that the total number of confirmed mpox infections is now six and that the identified clade is IIb.
11 December: Mali has reported five mpox cases, including one fatality. All identified close contacts are under 21-day monitoring. The clade of the virus spreading in Mali is still unknown.
2 December: No details are currently available regarding the clade of the country’s first confirmed mpox case, reported in mid-November.
