More evidence that social distancing and face coverings reduce the risk of infection from COVID-19

An outbreak of COVID-19 occurred on the USS Theodore Roosevelt in March, in which about 1,000 members were infected. Testing of the samples of members in April found that 60% had developed antibodies to COVID-19. [see report] About 20% of infected people had no symptoms. Those who reported loss of sense of smell or taste were 10 times more likely to be positive for COVID-19. The analysis also found “Preventive measures, such as using face coverings and observing social distancing, reduced risk for infection.”
