Malaysia // 22 December, 2020

22 December: Malaysia has agreed to purchase 6.4 million doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine after having secured 12.8 million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech last month as well as its deal with COVAX. The Malaysian Prime Minister stated, "This means that we have secured vaccine supplies to cover 40% (of the population)." Malaysia plans to have sufficient vaccine supplies to cover over 80% of the population, and so the government is currently in negotiations with China's Sinovac and CanSino and Russia's Gamaleya Institute to cover the remaining 40%.

21 December: The Malaysian government will conclude their agreement to purchase Oxford-AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine to cover 20% of the population. This is the third agreement after signing with COVAX to immunise 10% of the population and Pfizer-BioNTech to cover 20%.
