The COVID-19 Prevention Network has launched a website to allow volunteers in the United States to sign up for Phase 3 clinical trials of the Moderna experimental COVID-19 vaccine, mRNA-1273.
The trial is looking to recruit around 30,000 healthy adults across over 100 trial sites in the country, to receive the vaccine or a placebo. Vaccinations are epxected to begin later in July. These volunteers will be followed for two years to investigate whether the vaccine is effective at preventing COVID-19 disease or reducing its severity.
