Increase in flu infections

South Korea // 04 January, 2025

There has been an increase in flu infections in South Korea since late December 2024. Influenza-like illness (ILI) has risen by 30% compared to the previous week. There has been a significant increase in outpatient visits for ILI among all age groups. Influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 is the most widely circulating strain. Health officials emphasised that the current flu vaccine was effective against the circulating and that people should get vaccinated to protect themselves from infection.
