Hamsters ordered to be culled in efforts to reduce spread of COVID-19, customers quarantined

According to a government press release, hamsters imported into Hong Kong have been ordered to be culled as some of the hamsters have tested positive for COVID-19. This is being undertaken to reduce the potential for spread of the virus in both animal and human populations. A second press briefing also highlights that all customers who visited the shop on or after 7 January must undergo compulsory quarantine.
