The Pan American Health Organization has listed Trinidad and Tobago as having detected the Omicron variant. Media reports the Minister of Health stated the case was detected on 13 December in a traveller who arrive on 9 December. A woman who travelled from New York via Panama boarded the flight in New York despite a positive PCR test result. The woman has been in isolation since arrival. Fourteen passengers from the flight have been identified as close contacts.
