Fake COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Maharashtra, West Bengal

Fake vaccination campaigns have been reported in Maharashtra and West Bengal states. Over 5000 people were affected in as many as 12 fake drives that were carried in and around Mumbai between May 25 and June 6. Similarly in Kolkata, over 500 individuals may have been administered solutions instead of vaccines. Investigations are ongoing. The solutions administered either saline solutions or amikacin, an antibiotic. The health officials plan to modify the fake vaccination entries and re administer vaccinations to the affected people.
