14 August: The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) is seeking approval for its COVID-19 vaccine for animals in several other countries. Media reports that registration applications for the Carnivak-Cov vaccine have been submitted in Greece, Hungary, Korea and Thailand. Several other countries in Europe and South America are said to be interested.

6 July: Over 11,000 vaccines have been donated by Zoetis to be used in more than 100 mammalian species in around 70 animal institutions, sanctuaries, zoos, and organisations across 27 states. The use of the COVID-19 vaccine has been approved by the United States Department of Agriculture for experimental case by case use. The first delivery arrived at Oakland Zoo in Northern California on 29 June and vaccinations began for tigers, black and grizzly bears, and mountain lions.

30 May: Russia has started vaccinating pet animals against COVID-19 with its locally manufactured vaccine, Carnivac-Cov. So far, at least 10 pet animals have been vaccinated and about 17,000 doses of the vaccine have been distributed to government and private clinics for further use. The vaccine has been developed by the Federal Centre for Animal Health. Studies showed antibodies were developed in dogs, cats, foxes and minks post vaccination. The vaccine is administered in two doses 21 days apart.

31 March: Carnivac-Cov, coronavirus vaccines for animals, has been developed by a unit of Rosselkhoznadzor (Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance), media reported. Clinical trials were started on animals including dogs, cats, Arctic foxes, minks, foxes and other animals since October 2020. Results showed that vaccinated animals developed antibodies and the protective effect lasted for six months after vaccination.
