Health officials in Thailand are anticipating the arrival in 50,000 doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in February. This will be the first batch to arrive out of a total of 26 million pre ordered doses. Thailand is also seeking the procurement of 2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from Sinovac.
COVID-19 cases continue to be detected in Samut Sakhorn, as the health authorities continue with active contact tracing and testing. Samut Sakhorn province is classified as a “maximum and strict control zone”. Four other provinces Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan are classified as ‘maximum control zone’.
