BOOTS AND CLOGS
These protect the feet. Boots or clogs are generally waterproof, closed protective foot wear with non slip soles.
Boots are made of sturdy material and fully cover the feet and ankles. These are best suited for protection
- against sharp objects,
- during heavy duty tasks.
Clogs are slip-ons without shoe-laces and cover mostly the dorsum of the foot. These are less effective against liquids and may lead to contaminant exposure. However when used in combination with boot covers, they protect the feet better.
BOOT OR SHOE COVERS
Boot or shoe covers are optional equipment and reduce contamination to footwear. These are generally disposable and made of fluid-proof material.Shoe covers have elastic cuffs at the ankle whereas boot covers generally are longer and reach up to mid-calf. They should have non slip soles to prevent slipping.
Disadvantages
- They can be slippery.
- Soles of the covers are vulnerable to damage and can allow leaks.
