The Flavivirus called Zika

Zika is what we call an ‘emerging disease’ and joins pandemic influenza, and epidemic SARS, MERS and Ebola. Zika usually causes no symptoms, except in one very focussed person: the developing embryo. It is teratogenic. The first virus recognised to be teratogenic was rubella. Could Zika become a pandemic?
